I had the pleasure of second shooting for Kara Nixon Photography for Rendon and Lexi's Lake Tahoe wedding, and I am so glad I did! It was so much fun, everything was stunning, and it was a beautiful day in South Lake Tahoe.
I got to go hang out with the guys while Kara covered the time with the girls (I did get to snag a couple shots of the dress though thank goodness - because it's so gorgeous). When I arrived to the reception site, Revive Coffee and Wine, I walked into an intense game of chess going on between two groomsmen. It had apparently been going on for awhile. I don't understand chess, but the tension was pretty intense. It was quite comical to watch. I managed to pull the two groomsmen away from their game to snag some photos out in the gorgeous garden at Revive. I was excited to learn that the groom was the oldest of four boys. I feel being a boy mom has prepared me to deal with the shinanegans that always happens with the groomsmen. We made photos quick because I know there was a chess game that needed to be finished (after another 40 minutes, I believe it finally ended in a stale mate - whatever that means).
So the reception - lets talk about that. Holy cow. S-T-U-N-N-I-N-G. That's all I can say. The tent had a clear top, lights hanging and not one but two chandeliers! The table setups were ahh-mazing and to die for. Such an amazing combination of greenery, wood tones, candles and elegant. Plus there was eucalyptus - so it smelled amazing, too!
The ceremony took place at Regan Beach in South Lake Tahoe. We were under trees on a small hill that overlooked Lake Tahoe - it was glorious. Rendon and Lexi wrote letters to each other, and as the officiant was telling each one about the other's letter to them - you could tell how much they love and adore each other. There was so much love surrounding us all day - it was incredible.
We ended the night with a full dance floor and some fun sing-alongs! It was a good way to end a perfect day.
Thank you Kara for letting be your second shooter - it was so much fun! You're awesome and I hope we work together again!
