Venice Engagement Session | Reno - Lake Tahoe Wedding Photographer

Sitting here in Las Vegas after shooting a wedding at the Taco Bell Cantina last night (blog coming soon for that one), dreaming of our Italy trip. We’ve been back for a month and life is back to normal. Getting caught back up from being gone for two weeks, but always dreaming of Italy. Can I go back now?!

So Italy. Yeah, it was amazing. We saw Rome, Florence, Cinque Terré (my favorite), and Venice. The Venice portion was for the Hunter Douglas Platinum Trip that Hunter Douglas gives to dealers for meeting certain sales goals. My bosses were AMAZING and gifted Rob and I the Venice trip for our 10 year wedding anniversary and the honeymoon we never took. Yeah, my bosses are kinda amazing. Lucky to have them!

Hunter Douglas likes to do a big gala one night for the dealers. We had Venetian entertainers - including a real life music box ballerina on top of a piano. It was magical. We had an amazing dinner and some Opera. At dinner, we were sat at a table with six other other folks. Next to me sat a woman and her boyfriend from Tennessee. We got to chatting, and I find out that her boyfriend JUST proposed to her that morning. The photographer in me squealed because I mean - ENGAGEMENT SESSION IN ITALY!! Also, I just so happened to have a dress, in her size, that I had brought for the sheer purpose of hoping to find someone to wear it for a Venice shoot. Can we serendipity?! What’s even better, her fiancé is also an office manager who was gifted the Venice trip by his bosses. Pretty damn cool if I say so myself. We planned the engagement shoot for the following evening.

Serendipity: the occurrence and development of events by chance in a happy or beneficial way.

It was so damn amazing folks! It was a tad chilly as a storm was blowing in, and the water busses took way longer than we were expecting, but we made it happen and I could not be more excited about the images! The beauty of Venice and an awesome couple - it couldn’t have been more perfect.

Thank you Trevor and Stephanie for trusting a total stranger to take you out in the unknowns of Venice and letting me capture a once in a lifetime moment! I’m glad you didn’t think I was a weirdo when I said I have an idea…lol.
