When friends get married and ask you to photograph their adventure. Ummm…you don’t have to ask me twice! Of course Wil and Ashley put some stipulations - like I had to put the camera down after the first dance. They even went as far as threatening to look it up so I couldn’t sneak it.
I’ve known Wil for about 9ish years. He worked with my husband as a Wildland Firefighter. Those two became two peas in a pod, and is seriously nothing but goofiness when they’re together. When we made the move to Reno, my husband had to stay in California due to work - he of course roommated it up with Wil. Then a couple years later, Wil was in the Reno area for work - so of course it was his turn to roommate it up at our house. It was good times and never a dull moment for three months. I know my husband’s heart was a little sad when Wil’s detail job ended and he went back to So California.
I met Ashley the first New Year’s her and Wil were dating. I knew she was perfect for him instantly, and I knew he had fallen hard for her when we walked out of Circus Circus with I believe two garbage bags of stuffed animals he won her. She was super giddy about it, too. It was pretty freaking adorable!
Wil and Ashley got hitched at The Flower Inn in Loomis, CA. When I looked up the venue, I was so excited to shoot there! It’s gorgeous and in the Spring time, it’s freaking GLORIOUS. There were fluffy chickens running around! Their day was pure perfection. The weather cooperated, and they were surrounded by friends and family. Only downfall is the allergies I came home with, but 10/10 I’d do it all over again!
Thank you Wil and Ashley for trusting me with your adventure. I love you guys and am so honored that I got to capture your moments. Whether it’s a blizzard, rain or shine - I will make the magic happen! Wishing you many many years of happiness, lots of pizza and I cannot wait to see your family grow.
